Beaches of Deba
There are two beaches taking up 80000 m² of sand. The biggest one is called Santiago beach, also Deba beach, and the second one is Lapari beach. Both connect at low tide. Their geographical situation makes them safe and calm, idoneous to have a rest looking at the sea in a pretty landscape surrounded by all the green tones of the mountains that will take your breath away. Both beaches are surrounded by beautiful hillsides and are among the most picturesque of the whole of the Basque Coast. These beaches were awarded the ISO 14.001 for environmental management in 2003 and this system is still in place.
Close to the beach there is a parking area for 600 vehicles which separates it from a pedestrian poplar glove area taking up 20000 m² where children can play safely on the swings.
In the old town there is the Church of Santa María, National Monument and a showpiece of Basque Gothic art from the XV. Century, where its polychromed porche and cloister enhance the beauty of the church.
